THE PROBLEM
In coastal communities like Ngwe Saung, access to clean drinking water is inconsistent, especially in smaller villages without reliable infrastructure.
Families often rely on local water sources that are not safe to drink or must travel to access cleaner options. Even when water is available, there is often no practical way to filter or store it safely at the household level.
As a result, many families turn to bottled water when they can afford it. While this can provide short-term safety, it creates a growing plastic waste problem in communities that often lack formal waste management systems. Bottles are frequently burned, buried, or end up in the ocean, contributing to environmental damage along the coastline.
Ongoing economic and regional challenges make it difficult to maintain consistent access to basic resources, including clean water.
W.A.T.A. works with local partners to provide filtration systems, training, and long-term support, helping communities reduce reliance on bottled water while building sustainable, locally led solutions.

PROJECTS

SUPPORT THIS COMMUNITY
Funds raised through this program directly support clean water access in Ngwe Saung and Bugwe. Donations help provide long-lasting water filtration systems, support community training and follow-ups, and strengthen the systems needed to ensure families have reliable access to safe drinking water over time.
Supporters can also create a personal fundraising page to help expand impact. 100% of the funds raised through your fundraiser go directly toward the Myanmar program, supporting the families and community partners involved in this work.
All donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Water Access To All is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
