Be sure to keep the end of the Water Filter and the Cap clean and free from dirt and contamination.
Some water sources might be very dirty and in those cases you can filter the water through a cloth/shirt as you pour into the bucket. This will help keep the filter lasting longer.
ALTERNAtiVE FILTER SETUPS
In some cases, access to a Bucket will not be available, however the Sawyer Filter is versatile and can be used through other applications.
Mesh Bag can be used to hang the filter up and use gravity.
The Sawyer Filter can be attached to a Pouch and using gravity (with a little squeezing of the bag) the filter should do the rest, providing clean drinkable water.
The Sawyer Filter can be attached to the end of a water bottle and by squeezing the bottle, the filter will provide clean drinkable water.
FILTER CLEANING
BACKWASHING THE FILTER
The Longevity and Effectiveness of the filter relies on proper usage and cleaning. The process to clean the filters is called Backwashing and it uses clean water to flush out the contaminants out the other end of the filter. Do this regularly to make the filter the most effective it can be.
